The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Lebanon, celebrated the 78th Independence Day on 04 February 2026, at the Embassy premises in presence of members of the Sri Lankan Community in Lebanon and well-wishers.
During the Ceremony, multi faith religious observances were conducted and the felicitation messages of the President, Prime Minister and Foreign Minister were read to the public in Sinhala, Tamil and English.
Counsellor (labour), Sanath Balasooriya, delivered a speech to the gathering emphasizing the resilience and commitment of the Sri Lankan people to rebuild the nation. He also took the opportunity to commend the existing relations between Sri Lanka and Lebanon.
More than hundred Sri Lankans attended the event.
