The Consulate General of Sri Lanka in Toronto organized the official ceremony to commemorate the 78th Anniversary of Independence of Sri Lanka on 4th February 2026 at the Consulate General premises. Members of the community organizations in Toronto region representing Sinhala, Tamil, Muslim and Malay communities participated at this official ceremony.
During the event, Consul (Commercial) briefed the participants about the Rebuilding Sri Lanka Programme and invited them to use their expertise, network, resources and goodwill to support Sri Lanka’s recovery process and long-term development. The event concluded with offering traditional Sri Lankan delicacies to the attendees.
