
Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the patron of SLISR Ameer Ajwad felicitated seven (7) students of the Sri Lanka International School Riyadh who obtained the highest marks in the world at the international Pearson Edexcel Examinations - 2025. The felicitation ceremony was held at the School’s Annual Awards Ceremony on 21.11.2025.
The seven “World Record-Breaking” Students who secured the highest marks in the world include Arash Emre Anpas (iPrimary English), Yahya Mohamed Minhaj (iPrimary Mathematics), Amna Mohamed Ihsan (IGCSE Mathematics A), Rozmi Ismath Shaneez (IGCSE Mathematics A), Arushan Ratnendran (IAS Business), Ahmed Maazin Muhamed Munas (IAS Economics) and Maharamba Maha Acharige Menula Bosilu Maharambage (IAS Economics).
In addition, eleven (11) students who secured the highest marks in various subjects at the Middle East and Saudi national levels, along with another fifty-two (52) top achievers, were also felicitated.
While extending his warmest congratulations to the world-record-holding students and top achievers of the SLISR, Ambassador Ameer Ajwad highlighted that the academic year 2024–2025 had achieved an unprecedented milestone for the first time in the history of SLISR, marked by an outstanding performance that stands as a testament to SLISR’s status as the top-performing school in the Middle East as well as a record-breaking institution on the global stage. To mark this historic achievement, the Ambassador also presented a memento containing the postal stamp issued by Saudi Arabia to commemorate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Sri Lanka and Saudi Arabia.
Dr. Mohsin Abdullah Al Qarani, Chief Supervisor of the Private Schools, Ministry of Education, KSA and Mohammed Anas, Minister/head of chancery of the Sri Lanka Embassy in Riyadh graced the occasion. Dr. Rukshan Razak, the Principal and the staff of the SLISR, Members of the Parents and Teachers Association (PTA) led by Mr. Shafraz and Mr. Irshard, as well as the parents and well-wishers of the school were present during the event.
