A programme to raise awareness on "Combating Corruption and the Relevance of Integrity and Ethical Conduct" was facilitated by the Director General of the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC), Ranga Dissanayake, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism premises on 23rd October.
On the instructions of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism, Mr. Vijitha Herath, this programme was organized by the Internal Affairs Unit of the Ministry and the Sri Lanka Foreign Service Association (SLFSA). In addition to the officers of the Sri Lanka Foreign Service, the other officers representing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism and the respective Internal Affairs Units (IAU) also participated in this programme.
The Director General of the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption Ranga Dissanayake took steps to educate officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism on the existing legal framework against bribery and corruption, the ways that government employees should provide maximum service to the public under the existing legal framework, and the responsibility and role of the public employees in building a prosperous Sri Lanka.
