Consul General of Sri Lanka in Mumbai Priyanga Wickramasinghe called on Chief Secretary of Maharashtra Rajesh Kumar on 26 September 2025 at Mantralya, the administrative headquarters of the Government of Maharashtra.
Discussions centered on exploring avenues to expand and concretise collaboration between Sri Lanka and Maharashtra, which is not only home to India’s financial and economic hub Mumbai, but also a vibrant centre for arts, culture and education. It was agreed to work towards exploiting the vast potential in these spheres which would give further impetus to reinforce the longstanding people-to-people ties between the two countries.
