Webinar to enhance trade cooperation between Sri Lanka and Poland

The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Poland, initiated a trade webinar to promote trade between the two countries, in collaboration with the Polish Chamber of Commerce and the Export Development Board of Sri Lanka on 21 May 2025.

The Presentation by the Sri Lanka Export Development Board covered potential Sri Lankan export sectors suitable for Poland, including spices & concentrates, coconuts products, Ayurveda and wellness and ICT/BPM sector and it also highlighted the opportunities available for Poland’s processed food sector in Sri Lanka. Several Polish businessmen and trade companies attended the webinar.

Ambassador for Sri Lanka in Poland, Priyangika Dharmasena, in her speech indicated the importance of increasing the level of trade between the two countries which had been “insufficient, but having potentiality for expansion through diversification as well as exploring new products and services which can cater to both countries.”

The Chairman of the Export Development Board of Sri Lanka briefed on the current economic climate in Sri Lanka, including information about the bilateral trade between the two countries and the advantages for foreign companies doing business with Sri Lanka. Seacargo, a Polish company also spoke very positively about Sri Lanka, from the perspective of a Polish company doing business with Sri Lanka.

Ambassador Dharmasena, in her final remarks conveyed that the “webinar to serve as a stepping stone for furtherance of the existing trade relations between Sri Lanka and Poland”.

The Webinar concluded with a Q and A session. The Embassy of Poland in New Delhi, accredited to Sri Lanka also participated in the webinar.
