“Turning Point” Investment Summit inaugurated

“Turning Point”, an Investment Summit organised for the first time by the Federation of Chambers of Commerce with the objective of extending private sector assistance to the program being implemented by the government to promote foreign investments was inaugurated by Economic Development Minister Basil Rajapaksa at Kingsbury Hotel in Colombo yesterday.

The summit with the participation of representatives of Financial Management agencies in France, England, Switzerland, China and Malaysia will focus special attention on investment opportunities in sectors such as hotels and tourism, property development, Energy, modern Technology for generation of employment, information technology, education, food technology, development of small and medium scale enterprise and production of liquid milk.

This summit which concludes today is sponsored by the Investment Promotion Ministry and the Board of Investment of Sri Lanka.

It provides local entrepreneurs and enterprises an opportunity to have direct discussions on their investment projects with the foreign investors and representatives of funding agencies. Ministers Sarath Amunugama, Douglas Devananda and Deputy Minister Fai.ser Mustapha were among the large gathering present on this occasion.
