The Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Philippines, Shobini Gunasekera, paid a courtesy call on, Secretary (Minister) of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) of the Republic of the Philippines Bienvenido E. Laguesma, on 10 November 2022.
The focus of the meeting was to collaborate with the Philippines’ Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) - which is under the supervision of DOLE - on bilaterally harmonizing qualifications and standards on technical and vocational education and training. The discussions included the sharing of experiences and best practices between the two countries as well as the proposed MOU on Labor Cooperation between Sri Lanka and the Philippines.
Also present at the meeting were Undersecretary (Deputy Minister) Carmela I. Torres, Employment and Human Resource Development Cluster of DOLE; and Second Secretary/Head of Chancery of the Embassy P.G.P. Kaushalya .
