Vesak Day marked as United Nations Observance Day

In 1999, the United Nations General Assembly unanimously adopted Resolution 554/115, moved by SL Foreign Minister Lakshman Kadirgamar. Vesak Day is now internationally accorded as a United Nations Observance Day.
