The High Commission of Sri Lanka in Nairobi organized the Commonwealth Remembrance Day Service Programme on Sunday the 08th of November 2009 at the Commonwealth War Graves Cemetery, at Ngong Road, Nairobi. Religious leaders of the Roman Catholic and Protestant sectors - Islam, Jewish, Hinduism, Sikhism and Buddhism prayed for the souls of late war heros.

Number of Heads of Missions, Chief of Armed Forces - Army, Navy, Air Force and Police participated at the Remembrance Day Ceremony programme and prayed for those who may be in distress because of the war. Representatives from more that 30 countries attended the event. The British High Commission assisted in providing refreshments and the Department of Defence in Kenya made all security arrangements and provided material support required.
